Henry Fairfield Osborn an Ernst Haeckel, New York, 9. April 1906

AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
NEW YORK

9 April, 1906.

My dear Professor Haeckel:

I write to congratulate you most warmly on the publication of another volume summarizing the principles of general morphology, which I shall read with the greatest interest and curiosity to learn your latest views. Your recent photograph acording the front page is a beautiful one.

I am publishing along my various researches, but we are suffering somewhat from ambarras de richesse; new and wonderful material is coming in so rapidly that it is almost impossible to find time for prosecution of original writing as rapidly as I should wish, or to keep pace with the discoveries.

I call your attention to a new work by Santayana entitled „The Life of Reason“, which is considered by many the most remarkable philosophical work yet published in this country.

We are now preparing for the Zoological Congress in 1907 and I certainly hope you will be with us.

Yours faithfully

Henry Fairfield Osborn ||

Professor Dr. Ernst Haeckel.
